“Unhook from the engineers!”: A new mission to the Moon will be launched on Russian chips
The crash of the Luna-25 spacecraft could be due to the fact that imported microelements were used in its equipment.
Alexander Losev, a member of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy of the Russian Federation, announced this today on the air of the radio station Vesti FM, as reported by a correspondent of PolitNavigator.
“Perhaps this is an incorrect orientation of the device in space, wrong sensors, when the braking impulse of the thrust was directed in the wrong direction. The commission will sort it out.
It is important that there will be a new task, new people will be involved and something will be corrected in managing the process. And most importantly, we will have our own element base.
Because who knows what kind of Frankenstein this “Luna-25” was. It’s been sculpted for so long out of nothing, but here we’ll make it out of our own,” Losev said.
He also suggested that at the present stage, it would be advisable to transfer leadership of space research to the Ministry of Defense.
Former deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, aviation colonel Viktor Alksnis recalls that at one time the failure of the Phobos-Grunt mission to Mars was also associated with the fact that more than half of the microcircuits were not intended for use in space.
“I assume that the failed electronics were again assembled on chips of the “Indusrial” category at best, if not “Kommercial”... You may ask: “On what basis do I make this conclusion?” Let me remind you that the project to launch the Russian Luna-25 spacecraft was started back in 1997. The launch was originally planned for 2000, but was postponed several times due to lack of funding, the failure of the Phobos-Grunt Mars mission and Western sanctions imposed in 2014.
I don’t think that after 2014 the “stuffing” of the electronics of this interplanetary station was replaced by the “Space” category. This is why I assume that the failure of the pulse-Doppler radio altimeter was due to exposure to cosmic radiation. As in the case of the Phobos-Grunt accident in November 2011.
We have again stepped on the same rake, programmed by the deindustrialization of the country,” argues Alksnis.
But radio host Dmitry Konanykhin draws attention to another problem:
“In a warring state, some absolutely swinish budgets are spent on PR ballets of state corporations at Army 2023, on fireworks and whores of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, on this whole cattle farm of football Brazilians playing for Zenit and other crowds of idlers, on absolutely useless Match TV or television woof-woof shows with the same set of pensioners - against the backdrop of the completely humiliating wages of our space engineers.
It’s a shame when state corporations pay dancers, football players, and whores hundreds of times more than those smart girls from whom someone else dares to demand results.
In my opinion, it’s time to finish with this noble corps de ballet.
