Instead of the demolished monument, the communists erected a small bust. The disproportionality and originality of the large pedestal and small Lenin have already been appreciated by local residents. Nikolaev communists in response are hastening the authorities, which are engaged in the restoration of the monument.
City officials say the sculptors won't be able to restore the monument by May 15, as previously planned. The work turned out to be more complex than initially expected, and there are structural flaws in the sculpture, so the sculptors need at least 1,5-2 months to restore it. They plan to solicit opinions from all Mykolaiv residents about its placement.
Let us recall, as Navigator reported, yesterday in Berdyansk the monument to Lenin was painted over with red paint.
Nikolaev's mini-Lenin is gaining popularity online.
