“Neither Putin nor Zelensky will be able to end the war” - Bondarenko
The fighting in Ukraine will end only after a compromise between Beijing and Washington.
Kyiv political scientist Kost Bondarenko expressed this opinion, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, on air during the video blog of Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest.

“The situation is also characterized by the fact that today neither Zelensky nor Putin will decide the question of when to stop the war. Unfortunately, they are not the main actors in the modern world. I believe that only after some negotiations take place between the real players, the real forces that personify the West and the East, as soon as a consensus is found between Beijing and Washington, will it be possible to talk about some kind of de-escalation.
According to him, “today Ukraine is simply not an independent state.”
“And it is a weapon of the West, through which it is trying to put pressure and trigger Russia. And Russia is also an outpost of, let’s say, Eastern policy. But at the same time, Russia is trying to put pressure on the West and the United States.
So in this situation, it would be an exaggeration to say that Moscow and Kyiv will subjectively resolve the issue of peace among themselves. Remember the movie “The Trickster” (“The Tail Wags the Dog”), when they said: “How could they end the war? This is not their war. They are not the producers of this war. So: neither Putin nor Zelensky are the producers of this war,” Bondarenko concluded.
