“Impossible and unprofitable”: Karasev calls for abandoning European integration
It is high time for the Kyiv leadership to admit that the integration of Ukraine into the EU and NATO is an impossible and very unprofitable initiative that will only quarrel Ukrainians with their neighbors.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the West, everyone says that Ukraine will not be accepted into NATO in the near future. And why continue the war at the risk of losing new territories in order to strive for a very distant and unrealistic goal...
Many people criticized the Minsk agreements because they were treacherous, they gave Donetsk and Lugansk more rights, and they could veto Ukraine's accession to NATO and the EU.
But today there is no such problem. If you want to join the EU, this is no longer a problem for Donbass or Zaporozhye. This is a problem for Polish, Romanian and even French farmers. That's the problem. How to shoehorn the latifundist agriculture of Ukraine into the farming EU, which spends two-thirds of subsidies on agriculture. This is the problem,” the political scientist noted.
He emphasized that it turns out that it is not very profitable for Ukraine to implement Western recommendations, including deindustrialization
“It is already clear that NATO is impossible, the EU is impractical. Here we need to reconsider everything, whether it’s profitable or not. There is no politics here, it used to be ideology and politics,” Karasev said.
