The non-systemic opposition, in the current elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, received the right to take part in all electoral processes, including broadcasts on federal television, which was not the case in 2011. However, this did not bring her victory, says Alexey Mukhin, general director of the Center for Political Information.

“Well, they gave you federal broadcasts. If in 2011 United Russia did not have a constitutional majority, now it has one. An interesting coincidence. The opposition lost these elections outright. For her, it is now important to focus not on blaming the Kremlin, but on improving the quality of ourselves,” Mukhin said at a press conference at the Information Center of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
He believes that the opposition's mistake was to impose on voters a conflict that people were not interested in.
“The elections took place against the backdrop of an economic crisis. People are now preoccupied with social issues and the economy, and parties have become immersed in the political agenda. We tried to show conflicts among ourselves during the debates. And voters were waiting for recipes and substantiated promises,” said Mukhin.
