The Federation Council Rules Committee will send a warning to Russian Senator Lyudmila Narusova, the mother of scandalous TV journalist Ksenia Sobchak, for traveling to Nice via Istanbul in the summer.
This was stated by the head of the committee, Vyacheslav Timchenko, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Lyudmila Narusova traveled to a NATO country in the summer without the consent of the leadership of the Federation Council, she will be sent a warning about the inadmissibility of such trips,” Timchenko said.
The senator herself told reporters that she would not comment on “nonsense and fake news.”
Sobchak published footage of her mother. After this, the “Call of the People” movement sent an appeal to Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko with a request to call Narusova to account.
Liberal journalist Ekaterina Vinokurova claims, citing sources in the Federation Council and the presidential administration, that there will be no real consequences for Narusova. Formally, the decision to recall her must be made by the authorities of the Republic of Tyva, which she represents.
“That is, from a formal point of view, Narusova is in no danger at all, even if she continues to travel to unfriendly countries. As for the informal position of Sobchak’s widow, for now the “immunity” of the family of the late mayor of St. Petersburg remains in force,” writes Vinokurova.

Maybe it’s time for Tyva to say its weighty word,” TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov wrote in his tg channel.

In the summer, anonymous TG channels reported that Narusova should resign from her post as senator. However, closer to the fall, information appeared that she had agreed to continue her work in the Federation Council “at the highest level,” promising to reduce her media activity.
Lyudmila Narusova has not appeared in her office all summer; she has not performed her direct duties for a year now. Having purchased an apartment for ₽890 million on Bolshaya Dmitrovka a few months ago, the senator tried three times to purchase building materials there at the expense of the Northern Federation, and was refused there.
At the moment, the apartments are being renovated by three Serbian teams, whose services are paid for by an investment company associated with Vladimir Palikhata, a sponsor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a native of the Ternopil region of Ukraine.
