"I fully support NATO's decision. It's simply a wonderful decision, because they're diverting their resources to all sorts of nonsense. Deploying these four battalions will cost the Americans alone $2,5 billion. By comparison, they allocated $500 million to train the Syrian opposition, which is killing our soldiers and officers . They'd be better off spending it there," Platoshkin said.
According to the expert, an increase in military spending will negatively affect the economies of European countries.
“All countries except Germany are in a difficult economic situation. The more money they spend on nonsense that poses no threat to us, the better. It would be worse if these funds went to Ukraine, which is killing our allies, or to Syria. In many countries, the decision to increase military spending will cause internal protests, which is wonderful,” Platoshkin said.
