The director spent more than a year in Ukraine and Donbass and built a chronology of events that, in his opinion, led to the civil war. The premiere of the film has already taken place in Berlin, Donetsk and Moscow are next.
“Many distribution centers do not want to show the film because they are afraid of the Germans’ reaction to it. After all, what is shown in the German press contradicts what is shown in the film. We tried to show not the fighting itself, but the chronology of events and what is happening here, in Crimea or Odessa. These are all the consequences of Maidan, and not the fact that Russia invaded Ukraine,” Bartalmay said.
