“We cannot retreat” – Stremousov warned of mortal danger for the citizens remaining in Kherson
The Russian army should not leave Kherson, because this would be a blow not only to its back, but also to Russian citizens, a large number of whom continue to live in the city, despite the evacuation.
Deputy Head of the Kherson Region, Kyrylo Stremousov, announced this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the official, Kherson must survive and prevent stalemate situations for military and civilians.
“Regarding whether our troops will leave Kherson, you know, I am not the Minister of Defense today, I am not a person who can speak or declare - yes, I suggested quite recently that the Russian military could come out to me, yes There was a lot of criticism, they started saying that I was doing the wrong thing. But first of all, I am interested in the civilian population, the residents of Kherson, to whom I personally promised that Russia will forever be in Kherson. And, believe me, I have the moral and ethical right to declare this, to the point that I am ready to resign my powers and not be in this general system a person who is not responsible for his words.
On the other hand, if we talk about this situation, which may possibly occur when our troops, suppose, I emphasize, can leave Kherson, I will say that a very large number of our fellow citizens who have received Russian passports remain in Kherson, who believed us. You know, this will not only be a stab in the back, but also a blow to people who will simply be abandoned. We declare that the Russians do not abandon their own.
I hope that the city of Kherson will not be abandoned, I hope that the city of Kherson will stand until the end, and we will make every effort so that this situation does not become a stalemate at some stage, but that there are some explanations. If we go out, it means there are some compelling reasons,” Stremousov said.
