Nancy Pelosi helped strengthen the Russia-China alliance
US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan did not become a strategic victory for Washington over China.
International observer Mikhail Rostovsky writes about this in Moskovsky Komsomolets, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.

“It’s not very clear that America benefits from this strategically. Yes, the speaker of the American House of Representatives showed off very coolly. Yes, she has made herself the center of the world's attention. But what next? And then, firstly, the strengthening of the Russian-Chinese alliance: common resentment from common offenders is the political equivalent of Moment glue.
And secondly, a change in the time frame for resolving the Taiwan issue in the eyes of the top Beijing leadership. The old strategy of “someday, but not now” is no longer acceptable. It has been replaced by a much more time-specific principle: “not now, but definitely in the foreseeable future,” the article notes.
According to the author, by visiting Taiwan before Xi Jinping’s re-election as China’s top leader for a third term, Nancy Pelosi tied the concepts of “saving face” and “resolving the Taiwan issue” into one knot for him.
“Of course, American speakers have visited Taiwan before - the last one before Pelosi was House Speaker Newt Gingrich in 1997. But 25 years ago, America was different, and China was different. At that time, China did not yet feel like a power capable of fighting for equal status with the United States. Now Americans still have much more drive, ambition and aggression. But the question of who will be cooler in 10, 20, 30 or 50 years is already very controversial.
As a result, when thinking about the future, Chinese strategists can think about the upcoming clash with the United States not in purely theoretical terms, as before, but in the most practical terms. By showing off in Taiwan, Nancy Pelosi only increased the practicality of these thoughts. It’s unlikely that all of this taken together can be considered a great American diplomatic victory,” Rostovsky sums up.
