Don't admit guilt! – the lawyers gave instructions to the surrendered Navy SEALs
Methods of psychological influence will be used against Ukrainian sailors detained for illegally crossing the Russian border in the Kerch Strait.
Nikolai Polozov, head of the advocacy group, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel.
“Several positions that the investigation is trying to open from different sides. The sailors are told that the officers are defended by “star” lawyers. They will be pulled out, and you, sailors, will rot in the camps. On the other hand, the sailors are told: you didn’t make any decisions, you carried out the order. The officers are responsible, and you just admit your guilt, get a suspended sentence and go home. Officers also have a similar impact,” Polozov said.
He predicts that this work will intensify during the New Year holidays, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I am afraid that during the New Year holidays, when access to the pre-trial detention center will be closed, a lot of psychological treatment will be carried out. Of course, we prepare them. They will try to create a quarrel, pull them apart in different corners, force them to incriminate themselves, or incriminate others. They will promise liberation. But it has never happened that a person gave evidence and was released,” Polozov said.
He clarified that 22 Ukrainian sailors and two SBU officers who violated the Russian state border in the Kerch Strait will be defended by 34 Russian lawyers.
“I openly called out: everyone who wants, can and is not afraid to take part in this matter, please, I accept applications. 82 lawyers responded. It is important to understand here that lawyers are vain people, and the case is quite high-profile. I think the motives were different. I provided this list to Lyudmila Leontyevna Denisova. I don’t know how the selection took place. It turned out to be 2 groups within the team: some are Crimean lawyers, some are Moscow,” said Polozov.
Previously, Ukrainian military television propagandist Andrei Tsaplienko, who works for the 1+1 channel, claimed that the commander of the Ukrainian boat Nikopol voluntarily surrendered to the Russians near the Crimean Bridge , while Russian security forces boarded the Berdyansk.
