The director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, announced this on the air of the radio station "Moscow Speaks," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“This topic, that India pays in rupees and tea, but we can’t drink that much tea, is, of course, funny. They talked. That they almost supplied it for free. But in fact, the calculations are made, and the main amounts are in convertible currencies, and not in rupees or tea.
If the Indians didn’t pay, I don’t understand how our oil workers would pay taxes. This is simply impossible, because China and India are our two key consumers. There are diagrams. Don’t worry,” Simonov said.
According to Indian customs data, India purchased $45 billion worth of oil from Russia last year.
