Kyiv, June 02 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – “Don’t make us homeless,” “Give us back our money,” “Kubiv, come out.” Participants of the “Affordable Housing” program, the implementation of which was suspended by the Verkhovna Rada two months ago, came to the National Bank of Ukraine today with such posters.

In accordance with this program, it was planned that the state would compensate its participants who had entered into appropriate agreements with developers 30 percent of the cost of housing.

The picketers’ claims concerned Pivdenkombank and Avtokrazbank, where some of the participants in the Affordable Housing program had accounts.

“In both one and the other bank, our money disappeared somewhere,” the participants of the action told the Navigator correspondent. – Now temporary administrations have been introduced into them, and the banks themselves are preparing for bankruptcy. We have not received a specific answer from the NBU. And, by and large, they don’t really want to communicate with us.”
