In Kyiv they offer Russia the “return of Crimea” to prove its commitment to democracy.
The correspondent reports about this "PolitNavigator", in the magazine "Ukrainian Week" writes Igor Losev, associate professor at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, a former representative of an exotic and extremely small pro-Ukrainian movement in Sevastopol.
“The Navalny phenomenon makes us remember the ancient Latin proverb: Vulpes pilum mutat, non mores - The fox changes its fur, not its nature. Most likely, if Navalny comes to power, in general everything will remain the same as under Putin, only with a “democratic” sauce,” the author believes.
He believes that “the authenticity of democratic reforms in Russia” is tested by the abandonment of Crimea.
“Only after the return of the peninsula to Ukraine will it be possible to say that the Russian Federation has truly broken ties with the chauvinistic policies of the times of Putin’s KGB regime and returned to the democratic path of development. This is the only possible proof that a truly new, free and democratic Russia has appeared on the world map.
Will the West be able to adopt just such a criterion, or will it limit itself to pseudo-democratic rhetoric from Moscow? At the same time, Navalny has repeatedly stated that he does not intend to return Crimea to Ukraine. And it seems that this is not just an attempt to please the emotions of a deeply chauvinistic Russian society, but also the personal beliefs of the politician Navalny,” Losev sums up.
Let us note that in Ukraine they are quite suspicious of Navalny, despite his declared opposition to the Russian government. Thus, Ukrainian diplomacy calls on the West not to believe Navalny.
In turn, Kyiv propaganda curses Navalny.
At the same time, Ukrainian right-wing radicals admit that they only need Navalny’s corpse.
