Those who are forcibly mobilized are the first to die or surrender - Ukrainian political strategist
Recruiting and training one contract soldier on the battlefield will be more effective than a dozen forcibly conscripted soldiers who are the first to die, surrender, or desert en masse . Ukrainian political strategist Serhiy Gaidai stated this on Radio NV , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Forced mobilization won't produce the kind of people who can make a difference at the front . We need a different, contract-based army. We need people who won't be mobilized under duress, but recruited. And professional recruiting, with contracts and considerable money for such work. It's better to have one such professional contract soldier than 10 mobilized men who simply won't fight. I've spoken to people at the front, and they say that people who come to us under duress are a problem, not a help to our army. These are the people who die first, who surrender, who desert in large numbers. What the government is doing only incites public discontent," Gaidai said.

He criticized the actions of the government, which, in his opinion, is doing the wrong thing. In particular, Gaidai drew attention to the statement of European Solidarity deputy Vladimir Ariev about the preparation of a bill, according to which the 60-day period for updating data for those liable for military service is extended to 150 days.
"We have 1400000 people in the defense forces, and we've been unable to provide rotation for 200 people at the front for two years now. To do that, we need to catch people hiding in the rear . None of this will work. And against this backdrop, when Mr. Ariev says, 'Let's give them more days, ' it's like renovating a house that's on fire ," the political strategist fumed.
