Human rights violations in Ukraine have become the norm
In Ukraine, violations of the democratic rights of citizens have become commonplace - the state organizes attacks on objectionable journalists, puts them in prison for posts on social networks, and disperses inconvenient rallies with the help of nationalists.
Kiev human rights activist Vladimir Chemeris stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Democratic elections are when fundamental rights are guaranteed: freedom to express one’s views, freedom of speech, including freedom of assembly and freedom of association.
In our country, all these rights are systematically violated: journalists are attacked, pressure is put on TV channels, including yours, people are imprisoned for posts on Facebook, peaceful assemblies. If it is an objectionable opposition party, then they are attacked, people are beaten at rallies, offices are attacked, and a number of political parties are banned. This is the biggest problem of the election campaign,” Chemeris was indignant.
