We shouldn’t hope for the collapse of the Russian front – Rada Defense Committee
It is not worth expecting that the announced Ukrainian offensive will lead to a repetition of the Kharkov scenario, since the Russian army has strengthened its reserves and strengthened its defense line.
This was stated on the air of the Pryamyi TV channel by the Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Sergei Rakhmanin, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".

“From the point of view of the resources that, unfortunately, the Russian Federation relies on, this is unlikely... The collapse of the front line, it is clear that this is an ideal circumstance, an ideal goal that the military can certainly set, but achieving it will be quite difficult.
That is, it is possible, but it is very difficult. Comparisons with the events in the Kharkov region in the fall are not very correct, because in fact, the group that was then in the Kharkov region was not large enough. There was a reserve nearby, which they did not manage to pull up in time, and when a breakthrough occurred, they simply did not have time to use this reserve, and this was associated with an escape,” the deputy said.
He emphasized that in the Kherson region there was not a flight on the part of the Russian Armed Forces, but an organized retreat.
“In fact, these holes, weaknesses in the Russian defense were due to the fact that they lacked human resources. And it was precisely, looking at the mistakes that the Russians made then, that this so-called mobilization took place...
But they, in principle, increased the size of their group. Today, the Russian group that is opposing our military on the territory of Ukraine is larger than during the invasion. That is, they increased the number of personnel, built a whole network of fortifications, fortified areas, and trenches.
That is, they are ready, collapse is possible, but from a military point of view it will be very difficult to achieve this,” Rakhmanin said.
