Valentin Nalyvaichenko, who served as head of the SBU after the 2014 coup in Ukraine, admitted that he gave the order to arrest, and in case of disobedience, physically destroy the current heads of government and the State Council of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov and Vladimir Konstantinov.

“Of course, I gave such orders. The Russian occupation and the FSB, which already controlled Crimea, got in the way,” Nalyvaichenko said on the Ukrainian TV channel “1+1”.
According to him, at that time all the power structures of Crimea went over to the side of Russia. But despite this, he claims that a serious operation was being prepared in Kyiv to “liberate” Crimea.
“After February 24, new officers, volunteers from the Maidan, were appointed. They marched in combat groups to Crimea. We went to carry out combat missions. I myself instructed to collect counterintelligence information and conduct other special operations to launch a military operation to liberate Crimea. We understood that the army should enter Crimea not as a “cauldron”, but into a prepared territory,” Nalyvaichenko said.
He said that combat groups formed on the Maidan destroyed Russian officers in other regions of Ukraine.
“From March 31 to March XNUMX, new groups arrested and killed more than a dozen Russian officers. Where? They moved further - to the Kherson region, Donetsk and Lugansk. Russian officer groups in Kyiv were destroyed,” Nalyvaichenko said.
