On the eve of the cathedral of the “Poroshenko Church”, Filaret publicly rolled a barrel towards Constantinople
The head of the Kyiv Patriarchate of the UOC, unrecognized in the Orthodox world, Filaret threatened to hold “in his own way” the Unification Council, which, in order to create a Church controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, should gather in Kyiv on December 15, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Filaret stated this on air on the 1+1 TV channel.

“The Kiev Patriarchate is the largest church,” he expressed confidence, speaking on the 1+1 TV channel. “And it depends on us whether we accept what is demanded of us or not.” If it is useful to us, then we will accept it. If it is not useful either to us, or to the state, or to the church, then we simply will not vote, we will reject it.”
Filaret emphasized that the bishops of the Kyiv Patriarchate currently do not agree with the demands of the Patriarchate of Constantinople regarding the procedure for holding the council. Firstly, according to him, the Kiev Patriarchate advocates that the cathedral be exclusively hierarchical, while Constantinople insists on the participation of believers and ordinary priests in it. Secondly, in Kyiv they believe that voting during the election of the head of the new Ukrainian church should be open, while Constantinople insists on secret elections.
The unification council should take place on December 15th. It will be led by Bartholomew's representative, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Gaul.
