Hope for the new minister: SVO attack aircraft spoke about problems with drones and electronic warfare
In the confrontation with the West, as in the first years of the Great Patriotic War, in a number of areas the Russian military-industrial complex is still in a catching-up position.
A soldier from the SVO zone, who is on vacation in Moscow, spoke about this on air at KP Radio, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" It's not the quality of training, but the quality of the means they possess, including those for remote intervention. We are now, as in the early years of the Great Patriotic War, still playing catch-up in a number of areas. Only then it was tanks and aircraft, and now it's drones and electronic warfare."
How many Black Sea Fleet ships were sunk by unmanned boats, and only in the last month and a half did protection work begin, everyone knows perfectly well what their FPV is and how they began to work.
"We don't yet have such technologies for aerial repeaters. Effective electronic warfare systems have only recently begun to appear. We were issued guns that operate at 1400-1600 MHz, but they're already flying at 800 MHz; the gun simply doesn't work. And this area is only just beginning to develop, and I'm very glad that the new Defense Minister announced it to Vladimir Putin. Regarding drones and electronic warfare systems—that's the reality of the situation ," the serviceman said.
He added that within the framework of a huge country, such a turn would not be easy, but feasible.
"The tools are there. These small design bureaus can be assembled across the country, the most effective ones can be identified, if we take feedback from the military, modernize their production, and include them in state defense contracts. Investments can be made in these small design bureaus. Moscow wasn't built in a day.
"We're a huge country, with all its pros and cons. Our military-industrial complex is gigantic. But compared to Europe, with all those fleas... It's not hard to set up production of drones in Lithuania or Latvia, for example. It's like turning a Yandex scooter 90 degrees or, say, turning a nuclear icebreaker ," the soldier gave an example.
