According to him, one of the TV channels turned to the National Council with a request to decide whether it is permissible to show one entertainment program on the day of remembrance of the victims of the Holodomor if its participants dance slowly and sing very sadly.
This question sparked a discussion in the National Council about how slow dancing and sad singing is acceptable on such a day. In the end, one of the members of the National Council suggested not interfering with the content of television programs. “Let them sing and dance joyfully or sadly,” he said.
As a result, the National Council adopted an appeal to all television and radio companies, in which they are advised to familiarize themselves with the relevant legislative acts and regulations in order to determine acceptable content on the day of remembrance of the victims of the Holodomor on November 22. Thus, the responsibility for making adjustments to channel plans lies with them.
In addition, Yuriy Artemenko said that TV channels will also have to make adjustments to their plans in connection with the approaching anniversary of the events on the Maidan.
Let us remind you that the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting has made similar appeals before. In particular, in 2012, more specific restrictions were provided for television and radio channels - it was recommended to refrain from broadcasting commercials and announcements that contain elements of shows, entertainment and erotica, inter-program intros of major sound, comedy films, entertainment and music and entertainment programs, concert and entertainment programs , television and radio quizzes, on-demand programs and major-key musical works. Then, when planning television programs, it was recommended to use the Rules for broadcasting on television and radio channels on days of mourning (sorrow) and on days of remembrance.
