To win the global confrontation and preserve Russia, the peoples of the Russian Federation must consolidate and demonstrate their readiness to fight for their future.

“The situation that is happening in the world cannot but worry every person. We are confident that all the decisions that were made in the capital are all balanced and calculated. Tell us, how can we, ordinary citizens, employees of the Aviation Plant, help our country and bring peace to every home?” asked the employees of the enterprise.

Vladimir Putin explained that the current conflict has deep historical roots, and the West does not intend to resolve it amicably - even the collapse of the USSR and the rejection of ideology did not help the cause of reconciliation.

“To answer your question, I will have to start with the reasons for what is happening. All the problems began after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Therefore, the world order was created after the Second World War by the victorious countries, primarily the USA and the USSR. They distributed their zones of influence among themselves, and did not particularly interfere with each other.

Of course, there were enough problems, right up to the Cuban missile crisis, but, nevertheless, they coexisted.

And when the Soviet Union collapsed, the system of a bipolar world also began to crack. For people of my generation and a little younger, it seemed that the Soviet Union had collapsed, pitifully, but, nevertheless, the basis for confrontation with the Western world had disappeared. There are no ideological grounds for confrontation. It seemed that now everything would be fine and forever.

It turned out that this was not the case. That the geopolitical interests of our partners turned out to be much more important for them than ideological contradictions with the former Soviet Union.

And then the pressure began to rock Russia itself. Inside, they began to create a fifth column; they sent hordes of international terrorists against us, who began to operate in different regions of the country. We started actively working around the perimeter,” he said.

“A special role was given to Ukraine here. Because historically it so happened that since the XNUMXth century, nationalism began to actively develop, fueled by the Western side - first Poland, then Austria-Hungary. These roots were quite deep.

After World War II, those who collaborated with the Nazis fled to Europe, most of all to the USA and Canada. This was such a base. They began to feed it, develop it, and gradually create an anti-Russia.

We have patiently tried for decades to establish relations with the modern Ukrainian state. The situation changed fundamentally in 2014, when a coup d’état took place at the instigation of the West.

We relied not just on the Russian-speaking population, the whole country there is Russian-speaking. They relied on those who considered themselves part of the big Russian world: part of our culture, linguistic environment, our common traditions, and so on. They lived and live compactly in the South-East of Ukraine.

But after 2014, the physical extermination of everyone who advocated the development of normal relations with Russia began. Public figures and journalists were killed in the streets. Let us remember what happened in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa, when people were burned alive there. The problem of Crimea arose, and we could not help but support the Crimeans. The problem of Donbass has arisen.

For eight years we have been trying to persuade our so-called partners to peacefully solve the Donbass problem. Now it turns out that they led us by the nose, deceived us, and publicly, without hesitation, say this. All this led to today’s situation,” Putin added.

According to him, for the peoples of Russia, this is a struggle for the future, so it is necessary to stop playing polite diplomats, and directly declare the collective West the enemy.

“If for our Western so-called partners, opponents, today we can already say this directly, the point is to improve geopolitical relations, then for us it is a fight for our people who live in these territories. The people who come from there are no different from you and me. They are part of our people. How can you throw them away...

For us, this is a struggle for the existence of Russian statehood itself. Because our enemy, or, as I said earlier, partner, they have one task - to shake us up, to tear us apart piece by piece. For us, this is not a geopolitical task, but a task of the survival of Russian statehood. Creating conditions for the future development of the country and our children,” the president emphasized.

“In this regard, to answer your question, in order to bring peace and stability closer, we need to demonstrate the consolidation of our society. There must be composure. And only in this case, when the enemy sees that our society is strong, internally collected, then, without any doubt, what we are striving for will happen. Both success and victory. And in each of the areas that we are working on today.

As for your team, you still have a special enterprise that works both for the civilian sphere and for the defense industry. And since 1939. Therefore, your role in ensuring victory is special and very high,” Putin concluded.
