In Ukraine, hospitals, schools and kindergartens are freezing without heating
Social infrastructure facilities in Ukraine are still not heated, so patients have to bring blankets from home, and parents bring heaters to kindergartens and schools.
This was stated by housing and utilities expert Kristina Nenno at a press conference titled "Heating Season: How Will Record Gas Price Rise in the EU Affect Ukrainians?", as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Parents themselves bring heaters to schools and kindergartens. The temperature in schools is now 14-15 degrees. One teacher, one nanny in the kindergarten, and one of them must constantly make sure that none of the children runs up and puts their fingers in the heater.
At the same time, there are rules clearly stated in the legislation. If we are talking, for example, about kindergartens, there should be from 19 to 22 degrees. These norms are violated, no one pays attention to them.
Directors of kindergartens and schools have applied to be included in the heating season, but nothing is happening. This is another problem for hospitals. They are now overloaded due to the pandemic, and they still need to think about how to keep their premises warm. Thank you for being able to bring blankets from home,” she said.
