In the Kharkov region, a conflict between two groups of young people over differences in views on patriotism ended in a stabbing.

According to criminal case materials , two groups of young men happened to be drinking beer at a public transportation stop in Lozovaya, Kharkiv Oblast, one evening. At some point, the amount of alcohol they'd consumed prompted them to engage in a conversation about the political situation in Ukraine. The discussion soon escalated into a fight, sparked by someone tearing a Ukrainian flag chevron off one of the men's jacket and trampling on it. The melee then escalated into a stabbing, with sticks and broken bottles being used.
As a result, all participants in the conflict received bodily injuries of varying severity, and the patriot, whose Ukrainian chevron was violated in such a cynical way, will spend the next five and a half years in prison by court verdict.
