Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov announced this on Twitter.
“The acceptance of applications for the consultative competition for the head of the National Police of Ukraine has ended. 64 applications have been submitted, with which the competition commission is starting to work,” Avakov wrote on Twitter.
Let us recall that in November the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the head of the National Police, Khatia Dekanoidze, from her position at her own request. She has held this post since November 4, 2015. The duties of the head of the National Police are currently performed by Vadim Troyan.
Avakov announced a competition for the position of head of the National Police. As the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained earlier, the commission will identify two or three candidates for the post of head of the department, and from them he will choose the best one. Then the minister will propose a candidate to the Cabinet of Ministers, where a new leader will be appointed. The Minister of Internal Affairs expects that a new head of the National Police will be appointed in February 2017.
