“We learned a good lesson” - people in Kyiv are crying at the broken gas transportation system
For 20 years, Ukraine thought that Russia would not be able to launch bypass gas pipelines, and now Kyiv is forced to think about how to fill its gas transportation system.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Do you know what the lesson is? We wasted 20 years because we had to immediately use our brains and understand. When they said that Russia could build these pipelines and it didn’t succeed, we perceived it like this: “That’s it, the gas transportation system remains here.” And they took it and built it, and achieved it. We couldn’t have foreseen this for 20 years? Not 20 years, in my opinion, this whole story with the consortium dates back to 2003. And what did we do?” the political scientist complained.
He also added that due to its Russophobia, Ukraine now needs to think about how to fill out the GTS.
“I’m not saying that someone is right and someone is wrong here. Everyone is to blame. Because it’s: “God forbid that there are Russians there.” Now, it turns out, the gas transportation system has been wasted, and now we need to think about how to fill it, and so that the transit of this gas is profitable,” Karasev summed up.
