“We are not able to cover consumption”: Ukrenergo calls for savings
Due to worsening weather conditions, emergency power outages are being reintroduced in Ukraine
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, as reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

It is noted that today electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased due to low temperatures, amplified by strong winds in most regions. In addition, consumption by industry and business has increased.
“As a result, the power shortage has increased, including at night. To ensure balance in the energy system, consumption limits have been introduced to the regions, valid throughout the day - from 00:00 to 24:00. Unfortunately, in many areas the limits have already been exceeded, so emergency shutdowns are used to maintain stable operation of the power system,” the message says.
In some regions, due to unfavorable weather conditions, there is damage in the networks of distribution system operators.
“So far, the energy system is not able to cover consumption in full due to the damage and occupation by the enemy of a number of power plants producing electricity, including the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, the capacity of which would allow us to fully cover the need for electricity.
Ukrenergo, electricity producers and distribution system operators are constantly working to restore damaged facilities hit by enemy missile and drone attacks.
Please consume electricity wisely and use energy-intensive appliances one at a time. This allows us to reduce the load on the energy system and reduce the need to apply restrictions,” Ukrenergo urges.
