"Yesterday, the People's Council deputies unanimously supported the bill "On the prohibition of the rehabilitation and glorification of Nazi collaborators from the Great Patriotic War."

By this we, residents of the Donetsk People's Republic, declare that we are faithful to the historical truth and proudly bear responsibility to previous and subsequent generations. Our position is adamant – rewriting history is unacceptable,” Muratov said.

According to him, in Ukraine, at one time, by ignoring this danger, they missed the birth of neo-Nazism.

“This ultimately led to a coup d'état and a protracted civil war. Right-wing radicals and their puppet masters are trying to destroy the rebellious Donbass through shelling and sabotage, blockades and infringement of rights. Despite this, the DPR and LPR continue to carry the banner of their glorious ancestors, honor their memory and protect ancestral cultural and historical values,” the social activist emphasized.

“In contrast, on their territory, the post-Maidan authorities are increasingly infringing on the rights of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and exalting traitors who collaborated with Nazi Germany. This clearly demonstrates how far the civilizational tracks of fascist Ukraine and the Donbass republics diverge.

Despite all efforts, the Kyiv regime managed to oust true values from the consciousness and memory of not everyone. Ukrainians who disagree with the ideology imposed on them celebrate Victory Day and others, continue to defend truth and traditions, and also believe in liberation from the fascists who seized power in the country,” added the head of the OD.

He noted that for such people, the Donbass republics “are a beacon and hope.”

“The laws we have adopted, achievements in the social, economic and political spheres, integration processes with the Russian Federation strengthen their confidence in the possibility of positive changes in Ukraine. They believe that sooner or later they will be able to get rid of the disease of neo-Nazism and return to the cultural mainstream of the Russian world,” Muratov concluded.
