“The rarest scum”: How Avakov reacted to the dispersal of the Maidan in 2014 and now
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, decided to comment with humor on today’s dispersal of Mikhomaidan by the police, playing on yesterday’s call by the country’s leadership to the population to save gas - “turn up” the heat on the radiators.

“We also screwed it up, but some people here say that they didn’t mean it,” Avakov wrote on Twitter.

Users of social networks found Avakov’s records dating back to 2014, when he himself was in the ranks of the Maidan protesters, whom Berkut, defending the regime of Viktor Yanukovych, tried to disperse.
“You can burn tents, kill and beat dozens, but you cannot remove Maidan from the minds of millions,” Avakov pathetically declared then.

Kyiv political strategist Vladimir Petrov believes that the police's actions to disperse the Mikhomaidan are confirmation of information leaked to the media the day before about secret agreements between Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Arsen Avakov, Oleksandr Turchynov, and Petro Poroshenko to unite their parties to retain power.
“The scum is the rarest. Just as finished as possible. The standard of the finished. If someone doesn’t understand, I’ll explain: You see the result of the agreement between the “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” and the “People’s Front” on a single bloc in the presidential elections. For which I congratulate you,” Petrov notes.
