Young people from Europe are interested in the truth about the situation in the DPR
Recently, a delegation of the DPR returned to Donetsk from Sochi, taking part in the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students. Despite the fact that the DPR is still an unrecognized state, the guys from Donbass did not feel this. At various festival sites, the participants had very friendly and constructive communication, and young people from European countries showed a keen interest in true stories about the situation in Donbass.

The chairman of the student center of one of the universities in Donetsk, Yana Yakovenko, and Alexey Yarosh, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the DPR, spoke about this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Yana Yakovenko shared her impressions of the forum with journalists, and emphasized that this event became a “meeting with the whole world” for all the children:
“A huge number of platforms were presented, to which the best speakers from Russia and other countries were invited and present. We learned from them. But the most important task of the festival was probably that we could find and establish contacts between students from different countries, but, above all, of course, from Russia. To develop our activities, based on the experience of our generation, we are building a truly worthy future. The speakers invited to the festival sites were an example for all of us. Answers to questions, the opportunity to communicate with them was an invaluable incentive for us. Thanks to this, it turned out that all young people were open to dialogue. This is a merit of the subtle and deep organization of the festival. The fact that we could sit down at a table together anywhere, under any circumstances, or simply, while at some event, start a conversation, exchange contacts and find something in common. And, most importantly, we found it. Therefore, today we came to the DPR with a huge number of contacts, plans, and goals. I hope that all this will already be implemented in our future actions, manifest itself and make our world a better place. What one of the slogans sounded like and what they put into us at this festival: “We are the future.” Our future will depend on what values we embrace.”
In turn, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism Alexey Yarosh spoke about the attitude of other forum participants towards the DPR delegation. He emphasized that the forum participants did not feel any “non-recognition” towards themselves; on the contrary, it was a lively interest.
“The number of platforms that were held and organized gave the opportunity, both directly, to the delegation members, and to the organizers and leaders, to communicate at different levels on issues that, of course, concern us primarily as citizens of the DPR. Frankly speaking, there was no “non-recognition” in relation to the delegation, in particular, and all citizens. This, rather, can be called normal healthy interest in what is happening there. Our war has been going on for four years now, but, nevertheless, the guys from the Baltic countries of Europe asked the most questions. The guys from the Russian Federation are more knowledgeable and understand the whole situation better. Citizens of European countries were interested in an objective picture from our side, that is, how we see the whole situation, how we plan to develop. I would like to make a special emphasis that they were interested in the truthful side of the issue, because the picture that is seen in European countries and what is happening in reality are two big differences,” he says.
