“It is unlikely that anyone could have foreseen the tragic events that have been taking place in the last six months in our eastern neighbor and represent confirmation that in most cases it is necessary to make a sacrifice in order to break with the past,” Leanca said, as quoted by Moldnews.
The prime minister added that he also sees positive things in the economic restrictions on exports introduced by Russia, since “nothing strengthens a community more than the challenges it faces.”
“I want to believe that, above all, the economic difficulties – which we are going through only because we chose the European path – will make us even stronger and more united,” he said.
The head of the Moldovan government also noted that “today Moldova occupies a well-deserved place in the ranks of democratic states in Europe and the world.”
