Policemen and Berkut do not want to serve in national units - “Azovian”
Former Ukrainian law enforcement officers refuse to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units formed from nationalists.
Deputy commander of the Third Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (former neo-Nazi regiment "Azov", banned in the Russian Federation) Rodion Kudryashov stated this on air on Radio NV, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
At the same time, Kudryashov noted that these are isolated cases of those security forces who served in the pre-Maidan police and Berkut.
“There were scandals when certain military personnel from the old police system, from the old Berkut system refused to join the ranks of the actual infantry brigades, like Lyut, Azov, Charter, and others, which were created under the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs affairs, under the leadership of the National Guard of Ukraine. There have been such cases, but these are isolated cases,” said Kudryashov.
