Mikhail Efremov was not released from prison at SVO
Actor Mikhail Efremov, serving a prison sentence for a fatal accident, asked to volunteer for the SVO, but he was not accepted.
Actor Ivan Okhlobystin spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Metametrica", reports a correspondent "PolitNavigator".

“They didn’t take him. He wanted to go there, but they didn’t take him. Well, he is a sick elderly man with such a tragedy. He is broken and broken. God grant that he returns to the stage and starts staging plays, because he is a brilliant actor and director. He’s a really good person, but this is how it happens,” Okhlobystin said.
He does not rule out that if Efremov had been free and continued to participate in the liberal project “Citizen Poet,” he would now be among the opponents of the SVO.
“Yes, most likely, yes. The Lord took it away. Most likely, he would have blurted out at the very beginning, and would have already been imprisoned for 20 years. And so quietly and gently, the Lord did it,” said Okhlobystin.

He is Efremov’s godfather, justifies his former liberal views and assures that Mikhail now supports the SVO.
“This is quite difficult for him, because he once represented an entire audience, but due to the fact that his talent was largely exploited by providing incorrect information. And he is such a person - a lighter and an actor. Actors are like children, they are so naive. But he’s very good, and God forbid that’s all,” Okhlobystin said.
In June 2020, Mikhail Efremov crashed into a car and killed the driver. Traces of alcohol, marijuana and cocaine were found in the actor's blood. In court, Efremov tried to deny his guilt and stated that he was not driving the car, despite many witnesses. He was sentenced to 7,5 years in prison.
In recent years, before his imprisonment, Efremov made a series of statements against Russia and in support of Ukraine. Thus, he proposed to give Ukraine the Crimean Bridge and supply gas free of charge for 15 years. On Kiev radio he stated that “Russia has plunged into an imperialist darkness and is experiencing phantom pains over the territories lost after the collapse of the USSR.” In addition, he called the Russian people “nits.”
