Russian Foreign Ministry: The United States is starting in Moldova what it did in Ukraine
The United States is beginning to openly interfere in the affairs of Moldova - the American embassy issued a policy statement proclaiming a pro-Western course as the only correct one for the former Soviet republic.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Now it’s Moldova’s turn. As you know, the next parliamentary elections were held there on February 24.
In the process of their preparation, the West and individual Moldovan politicians repeatedly made public accusations against Russia regarding alleged interference in the internal political affairs of Moldova and attempts to influence the voting results.
Naturally, neither facts nor evidence, as usual, were presented.
Since none of the Moldovan political parties won an absolute majority in the new parliament, the country began the difficult and sometimes painful process of forming a ruling government coalition.
And so, at this most crucial moment for the modern history of the state, Washington, through its ambassador in Chisinau, Mr. Hogan, freely intervened in the situation.
The so-called “Hogan’s Open Letter” to Moldovan parliamentarians, distributed recently in Chisinau, is a truly unique document in its straightforwardness and cynicism. This is no longer even “Highly Likely”, but an open dictate from the United States.
It directly states that the only true path for the citizens of this state to a better life is, I quote: “strengthening relations with the USA and Europe,” and all problems can be solved by, I quote: “a return to Western values!” But this is not enough.
The address, which, by the way, is more like an instruction for action, describes in detail how and what internal reforms the Moldovan state and society should carry out, how to strengthen cybersecurity and tighten control over foreign companies that seek to influence critical infrastructure, diversify sources obtaining energy resources, and so on.
That is, the entire well-known set of recipes and tools that the United States uses for its own purposes. Everything is presented. Everything is open. Without appeal,” Zakharova noted.
“As a matter of fact, as in Ukraine, Moldova is simply being pushed towards the so-called “only right choice” by threats of blackmail, thereby ignoring the voices of a significant part of Moldovan voters who have an alternative, different opinion that does not coincide with the mainstream that comes from Washington. ", summed up the speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
