Simferopol, August 13 (Navigator, Evgeny Andreev) – Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the creation of the Crimean Federal University.

The document was published on the Russian government website on Wednesday.
“The Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky is being created on the basis of seven educational organizations of higher education (including separate structural divisions) and seven scientific organizations,” the explanatory note notes.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is entrusted with:
submit within six months for approval to the government of the Russian Federation a program for the development of a federal university, and also prepare within three months and submit to the government a draft regulatory legal act of the government on introducing changes into the state program of the Russian Federation “Development of Education” for 2013-2020, providing for, starting with 2015, financial support from the federal budget for the implementation of the development program of the federal university and the fulfillment of the state task.
“The decisions taken will contribute to the socio-economic development of the Crimean Federal District through personnel training and scientific research at the federal university,” the certificate says.
