Residents of surrounding villages are complaining en masse that checkpoints prohibit them from entering Mariupol to trade in the city's markets.
According to them, they are stopped at a checkpoint when entering the city from the Mangush direction. Local residents who traditionally sell dairy products and meat can no longer access the city's markets.
The press service of the City Council explained that there is no information about a ban on residents of villages entering the city for trade, the publication “0629” writes.
The press service of the ATO headquarters of sector “M” reported that they do not yet have information about why people are not allowed into the city with goods.
Representative of the crisis center “Defense of Mariupol” Roman Sokolov told 0629 that by decision of the command of sector “M”, entry into the city for residents of surrounding villages to trade meat and dairy products is carried out at checkpoints in the Donetsk and Volodarsky directions.
Only there will the pass be granted after verification. To transport goods into the city, you must have a certificate stating that the products have been tested by a sanitary laboratory.
According to residents, the only mobile sanitation laboratory is located in Volodarsky; according to them, checking products there costs 100 hryvnia.
“People are perplexed as to why go through pre-inspection if they will have to go through the same procedure later on in the market. At the same time, many of them will have to make a long detour, which, given the current price of gasoline, will affect the cost of food for Mariupol residents,” the publication writes.
As PolitNavigator reported, entrepreneurs previously complained that they were prohibited from bringing food from Donetsk.
