Marchuk: Western leadership is behind, the last hope is the USA
There are fewer and fewer people who want to support Ukraine in the world every day.
Former head of the SBU Evgeniy Marchuk spoke about this in an interview with Glavkom, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We should not focus on a frozen conflict for the reason that all our peace initiatives will immediately fade away, and there will be very few people in the world who want to support us.
So far, international circumstances are favorable to us, although many serious negative phenomena are happening in the international security system today.
Russia practically destroyed the entire cascade that maintained international security by occupying parts of Georgia and Ukraine.
She violated the Helsinki Agreement on the inviolability of borders in Europe after World War II, and neglected the second article of the basic agreement between Ukraine and Russia,” Marchuk escalates.
“From the point of view of world security, the recent leadership of the West no longer exists; world security has clearly been destroyed. NATO's eastern flank is now weakened quite seriously, due to the fact that Russia has turned Crimea into a military base.
We can only hope for the United States and that its assistance to us will not decrease,” worries the former head of the SBU.
