On Monday, April 28, 40 special battalion soldiers were identified who were supposed to go to the eastern regions: 27 people refused the trip, the Gall-info publication reports, citing its own sources.
“We are talking about a special company of the former Berkut. Only 13 fighters agreed. It should be understood that the soldiers of this special company, in addition to serving in the authorities, earn money by working at private facilities as security guards,” the source said.
Today this information was confirmed by the head of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lviv Dmitry Zagaria.
“As the deputy for public security, Colonel Grebenyuk, reported to me, their motives were that they did not have the equipment. However, they must be provided with equipment and supplies at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Kharkov region. “I ordered an official investigation into this fact,” Zagaria said.
As Navigator reported, participants in protest movements in the Kharkov, Donetsk and Lugansk regions say that the local police are “with the people.” They remind you that in February they supported the Berkut members, so they believe that now law enforcement officers “will not raise a hand against them.”
