Moscow - Simferopol, March 17 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - Crimea in the future has every chance of becoming an economically independent subject of Russia, said former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov.

“We need humanitarian assistance, we need help at first... When everything is determined, Crimea will certainly be a subsidized entity... But I have no doubt that Crimea can be independent economically,” he said in an interview with the Dozhd TV channel "

“If an atmosphere of confident investment is created, they will go to Crimea,” Luzhkov believes.

Previously, he believes, Russian owners did not feel confident on the peninsula.

“For almost 20 years, there has been a situation where every year we were told: “These sanatoriums - Ponizovka, Mellas and so on - will be taken away.” This is the overall picture, this is not only in relation to the Moscow government. Moreover, when it comes to the objects of the Moscow government, the Ukrainian government treated them with more restraint, caution, realizing that some kind of pressure could be exerted here. And for everything else, take it away, take it away,” Luzhkov asserts.
