Lukashenko retained power. It's time for Belarus to go to Russia
The Belarusian protests did not lead to President Alexander Lukashenko losing control over the situation in the country.

A journalist based in Minsk reminds that this is his ninth “color revolution”, during which he has to work as a special correspondent, writes that nothing special is happening here at the moment and believes that Lukashenko has retained power.
“Color” revolutions are impossible without betrayal at the top. As events have shown, including harsh detentions of protest organizers and activists, there is no betrayal at the top in Belarus. And the state will always resist disparate street forces, even if they are soft, equipped with training manuals and the support of the global democratic community,” Steshin is convinced.
He calls for discarding “the crocodile’s regrets about the three days when all the violent activists were detained and neutralized.”
“In Ukraine they were too lazy to spend three such days, and they have been at war for 7 years. I saw this war from beginning to end, a lot of my friends died there. I completed all the summer battles of 2014 and 2015. This is all only because at the very beginning they pitied the Maidan boys and girls. But they could have saved the lives of 15-30 thousand,” writes the special correspondent.
The journalist also refutes the opposition's claims about the lack of support for Lukashenko in society.
“I came to a car rally in support of Lukashenko, where 100 cars were announced, but 600 arrived. And four or five people sat in each one. And you will tell me that no one in the country supports Old Man? Even his smell would not remain if no one supported him,” the special correspondent emphasizes.
He believes that many will not forgive Lukashenko for what happened a couple of weeks ago, and the protest will turn into smoldering.
“And in the end, Lukashenko will understand that the light is in the East. His only chance is to leave with Belarus to Russia. With some kind of very broad autonomy or even preservation of statehood. But this would be the best solution for both Belarus and Russia, there would be great profits and joy. I think it's time to collect the stones. And it’s high time for Russia to do this. And it is open to everyone. And without delay.

People have tried to bring class-action lawsuits from rural communities to the International Criminal Court. They hammer on them from morning to night. I am absolutely not satisfied with this kind of salvation. Will Belarus agree to leave for Russia? I’m sure that she will regret it later if she doesn’t agree now,” Steshin sums up.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Belarusian politician stated that only integration with Russia will ensure Belarusian statehood.
