Lukashenko on the situation in Ukraine: We have reached a dangerous line
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko condemned attempts to split Orthodoxy, the threat of which was announced by the priests of the Russian Church after the decision of the Patriarchate of Constantinople to legalize schismatics in Ukraine.
"...We are very sensitive to what is happening today in Orthodoxy... We have come too close to a dangerous line," Lukashenko said at a meeting with the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, in Minsk, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Belarusian president also touched upon the situation in Ukraine during a meeting with members of the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
“We are closest neighbors, fraternal, Slavic peoples. And we will continue to do everything possible to ensure that peace and harmony return to Ukrainian soil as soon as possible. The split is not about us, it is not for us. And we will do everything, I'm sure of it. Time is the best healer and judge, we will definitely be together,” Lukashenko said.
