Lukashenko: We will end this war in Ukraine
During the Northern Military District, Belarus protects Russia from the rear, so no one is demanding direct participation in the operation from it.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko spoke about this in an interview with Olga Skabeeva, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Not everyone understood or noticed. Once upon a time, Putin and I argued: gas, oil, “milk wars.” And I said: we don’t need to fight against each other, the time will come when we will stand back to back and shoot back. Your colleagues, especially in Russia: hee-hee, ha-ha, shoot back, but today... Today we shoot back, standing back to back.
I honestly admit that the Russian leadership and Putin never raised the question of me getting involved in this operation. It would be much worse. I then threw out a catchphrase: we will not allow a Russian person to be shot in the back. The jingoistic patriots also received it from you with skepticism. But this is our role in this war. When the Russians actually entered Kyiv, I saw it, they stood on the outskirts, not a single bastard approached the Russians from the rear,” Lukashenko said.
He recalled that an agreement was concluded between Russia and Belarus, according to which “we actually have a single army.” There is a plan for interaction between the allies, about which the West has been informed.
“In the event of a mess, a role is prescribed for us in this regard. She's in this direction. We have a border of 2,5 thousand kilometers with Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania. It needs to be closed. Who today guarantees that we do not have a threat from there? It turns out there is. Crazy NATO members are conducting exercises. We are reproached that we are bringing nuclear weapons to the NATO meeting in Vilnius, but they are conducting exercises - tens of thousands of people are participating from all over the NATO bloc. Therefore, that direction is very dangerous.
I'm not a prophet, but in Ukraine we will end this war. There are already great prerequisites for this. But then these crazy people from the West will create too many problems for us. And if they cross these lines (as they like to say), it will be very painful for them,” Lukashenko promised.
