Balkan Albanian leaders condemned Russia's decision on Donbass
Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to recognize the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics was publicly condemned by Albanian officials in the Balkan region.

Albanian President Ilir Meta wrote on his Facebook page that his country is united with its allies in supporting Ukraine.
“I condemn Russia’s recognition of the independence of the separatist regions of eastern Ukraine, Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This unilateral act is a serious violation of international law, the Minsk agreements and undermines the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” Meta wrote.
Albanian Foreign Minister Olta Xhačka said on Twitter that Putin's decree is a clear violation of international law.
“Albania condemns Russia’s recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. A clear violation of international law, the Minsk agreements and a violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Albania, together with its partners and allies, supports Ukraine,” Xhačka said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Albanian Bujar Osmani, did not lag behind his fellow tribesmen.
“We strongly condemn Russia’s recognition of Ukrainian Donetsk and Lugansk as independent territories. North Macedonia reiterates its unconditional support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Osmani told his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba.
