Leps refused to take money for a performance in Donetsk
Russian singer Grigory Leps refused to accept a fee for his performance in Donetsk, where his concert attracted an unprecedented number of spectators and became comparable in scale to the largest demonstrations of the Russian Spring.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, spoke about this during a meeting with residents of Khartsyzsk, who asked whether concerts of stars of this level would still be held in Donetsk.

Pushilin said that Leps himself volunteered to come to the Donetsk People’s Republic for Donbass Liberation Day and performed without a fee.
“Leps said: “The heroic Donbass needs a big concert.” This is what we saw, the center of Donetsk could barely accommodate everyone,” said Denis Pushilin.
He promised that other famous Russian performers would also visit the DPR.
Let us note that not all Russian pop stars have the courage to come to the LDPR.
Thus, the famous singer and frequent guest of the LPR and DPR, Yulia Chicherina, called the Russian liberal singer Sergei Shnurov a "penny-pinching ditty singer" for his recent confession on TV about his fear of performing in Donbass.
