Kyiv, August 13 (Navigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – On Tuesday, August 12, a hearing was held in the session hall of the Kramatorsk City Council at which representatives of public organizations and political parties discussed the future fate of the monument to Vladimir Lenin.

Secretary of the Kramatorsk City Council Ekaterina Vorobyova stated the following: “Serious passions have been boiling around the monument for several months now. There are both supporters and opponents of the demolition of the monument in the city. And there are also people who believe that Kramatorsk is full of other more important problems.”
According to Ekaterina Vorobyeva, not all residents of our city know that the Kramatorsk monument to Lenin was made in 1970 at NKMZ. The monument is registered and is under state protection.
Following the meeting, it was decided to leave the monument in place.
“Those who intend to insist further on the demolition of the monument, as well as on the renaming of the square itself, may choose non-radical methods. Create an initiative group, begin collecting signatures among your supporters, provide lists to the deputy corps of the Kramatorsk City Council and initiate consideration of the issue at the session. Any other methods are illegal and will receive appropriate assessment from law enforcement agencies,” said Ekaterina Vorobyova.
As Navigator reported, last week they tried to demolish the monument, citing its emergency condition.
