Crimean Deputy Minister deprived of Russian citizenship
The Alushta City Court declared the acquisition of citizenship by Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Crimea Maxim Balatsky illegal, since at the time of the referendum in 2014 he did not reside in Crimea on a permanent basis.
This was reported by the publication "Arguments of the Week - Crimea", as reported by a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
It is reported that Balatsky provided incorrect information, as a result of which the Federal Migration Service issued him a Russian passport.
Deputy of the Simferopol City Council Stepan Kiskin, in a comment to the publication, said that now the activities of the Crimean Ministry of Information should be checked by the FSB, since Balatsky, as a high-ranking official, had access to state secrets.
“Here we dig and dig and dig... After all, he held the position of deputy information policy - this could also influence information policy in Crimea,” Kiskin said.
Let us remember that before Crimea became part of the Russian Federation, Maxim Balatsky was also known as an influential Dnepropetrovsk lawyer. Later, already in 2014, he became a consultant to the Crimean territorial administration of Rosgranitsa, and in 2016 he headed the department on the peninsula. Since June 2016, he was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the Republic of Crimea.
On the peninsula, he is also known for his lawsuit against social activist Alexander Talipov, who published scandalous details from the life of the deputy minister on his blog, accusing him of multimillion-dollar fraud in the consideration of court cases in the Ukrainian Dnepropetrovsk.
