The actions of the Ukrainian authorities aimed at religious division and infringement of the rights of believers in the country should be appealed to international human rights organizations. But instead, neither the canonical UOC nor Russian human rights activists and religious leaders are carrying out any international work.
Crimean political scientist Nikolai Kuzmin stated this on the Millet TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Now events are happening there, who is raising the issue of protecting the rights of believers? Nobody raises... Why don’t we raise the question, why doesn’t Russia raise the question, the Russian Orthodox Church doesn’t raise the question with the relevant human rights organizations about the protection of the rights of believers. In the end, if we are branded there and no one will listen, then there are fraternal organizations, European ones, that speak out.
It is known that the Polish Orthodox Church opposed it, the Serbian Church opposes it. It is necessary to raise the question of protecting the rights of believers in Ukraine. Raise the issue before international organizations. In the UN General Assembly, in European structures and so on,” Kuzmin said.
