Crimean athletes: The Olympics will be held in Paris, and then we will kick your ass
The Paris “Olympics of humiliation” for Russian athletes repeats the events of the 80s, when, after the introduction of Soviet troops into Afghanistan at the beginning, the West and the United States boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, and then did everything possible to prevent the USSR from attending the Olympic competitions in Los -Angeles 1984. Then the Friendship Games were held in the countries of the socialist camp, and their winners gave a head start to the Olympic champions.
Oleg Golinach, director of the Yarov Crimean Olympic Reserve School, announced this on air at Crimea 24, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Given all these sanctions, there's no hope for any kind of objective judging . If someone gets the idea to go some way because they want to get to the Olympics—and for every athlete, that's the pinnacle of their athletic career—that's not how it should be achieved, you understand? The people won't forgive them, the people won't forgive them.
Back in 1988, I joined the national sambo team. We entered two teams—one adult and one youth—at the Kharlampiev Memorial tournament, our first international competition. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke with us; we were entering the international arena for the first time. And our head coach, Yuri Fedorovich Borisochkin, said these famous words: " The main thing is, no one should forget that you are the descendants of the great victors who broke the back of fascism in Berlin. We smile, we are Russian, the Russian spirit lives within us, and, raising our fists, we greet them with a rich welcome. This is the spirit that should live in every athlete ," Golinach emphasized.
"And no sanctions will stop us. You don't want to see us? We won't be there. We will follow the format of the position of the president and the leader of our republic, our State Council – alternative games will be created, and our guys will face those Olympic champions from Paris and prove who is stronger ," Golinach concluded.
