Crimea will live for at least 2 winters under the threat of blackouts
Moscow - Simferopol, November 17 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - Crimea will have to spend at least the next two winters under the threat of an energy crisis, which could be caused by a cessation of electricity supplies from Ukraine.
This was stated by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Energy Ivan Grachev.

“Long-term, strategic decisions are so far focused on the transfer of energy through the Kerch Strait in volumes that compensate for Ukrainian volumes. This solution is not very good, in my opinion. First of all, in terms of speed. This cannot be accomplished before 2016. But in reality, with design, it will take 2,5 years. Accordingly, for two winters, residents of Crimea will live in a risky, non-stationary situation,” he said in an interview with the magazine “World and Politics.”
Grachev believes that problems with electricity in Crimea could begin if Ukraine does not agree on coal supplies from Donbass - in this case, not only the peninsula, but also consumers on the mainland will be cut off.
In addition, a political gesture from Kyiv is also possible. “If even Europe takes irrational steps for political reasons, then what can we expect from Ukraine?” - said the parliamentarian.
Crimea will live under the threat of power outages for at least two winters.
