Vyacheslav Kovtun, who calls himself a "Ukrainian political scientist," stated this on the Crimean talk show "Everything as It Is," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, there are no more veterans left in Ukraine who participated in the Great Patriotic War, and the rest cannot celebrate February 23rd. Therefore, ATO militants are celebrating the anniversary of the creation of the UPA - the army of their ideological predecessors.

“After the Great Patriotic War, after its end, 73 years have already passed. The life expectancy of men in our country is approximately 65-67, well, maybe 69 years. That is, no one who really took part in the war is no longer alive, they left. Therefore, speculating on this topic is not something worthy. That is, who is celebrating - who didn’t smell gunpowder, who didn’t actually fight? What do they celebrate, what do they remember?
And the current holiday, October 14, is already tied to real history, to our real present day, and therefore we need to think about the living, first of all, and about those who defend their homeland,” Kovtun said.
